Charles Barry Ervin

Charles Barry Ervin, 69, of Bessemer City passed away November 30, 2013. He was born April 22, 1944 in Iredell County son of the late Hoyt Clayton and Margaret Neville Ervin. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd. Gastonia, NC 28052 officiated by Rev. Jason Carson and Sheriff Alan Cloninger. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 9:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Northlake Memorial Gardens, Huntersville with honors by the Gaston County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard. Mr. Ervin loved his family and attended Ranlo Freewill Baptist Church. He retired from Gaston County Sheriff's Office, currently employed with CaroMont Regional Medical Center, and was a Navy veteran. He is survived by: his wife of over 32 years, Wanda Weaver Ervin; son, Chuck Gibson and wife Kim; daughters, Melinda Ervin Wilson and husband Robert, Sarah Frances "Tina" Ervin and partner Lisa Huffman, Tamara Ervin Harris; brother, Hoyt "Gene" Ervin and wife Brenda; sister, Diane Posey and husband Carl; grandchildren, Jessica and Amber Harris, Josh and Scoter Ledford, Robbie and Alyssa Wilson, Jamie Wallace, Jeremy and Joseph Coley; 6 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
