Charles Lindberg Ellis

Charles Lindberg Ellis, 88, of Mt. Holly, passed away December 16, 2015 at the Brian Center in Gastonia.

He was born July 24, 1927, a native of Gaston County, the son of the late Burl and Nettie Ellis.

Charles was employed as a butcher with A&P Supermarkets.

Left to cherish his memories are his son, Terry V. Ellis Sr. and wife Sandra Abernathy Ellis of Mt. Holly; grandchildren Terry Vermone Ellis Jr. of Kings Mountain, Wendy Ellis Register and husband Tim of Lincolnton, Brooke Ellis Spirlin of Mt. Holly, Charles Matthew Ellis and wife Katie of Cramerton; great-grandchildren Derek Earl Register and wife Angel, Hannah Elizabeth Ellis, Ethan Vermone Register, Zed WC Register, Hayden Wilburn Ellis, McKennzie Rae Spirlin, Khloe Marie Ellis; great-great grandchildren, Heather Rudnick, Devin Heath and Kylee Register; sisters Rachel Norris, Cecelia Webber and Naomi Black.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Imogene Lail Ellis; daughter Charlene Ellis Ross; brother Sam Ellis and sister Gloria Mobley.

A graveside service will be held 2 pm Saturday at Gaston Memorial Park, officiated by the Rev. Bruce Brown.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
