Charles "Ed" Edward Thornburg, 88, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.
He was born February 10, 1934, in Gaston Co, NC, son of the late Charles Zeb Thornburg and Viola McCall Thornburg.
Ed was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Gastonia, and was a Veteran of the Marine Corp.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sons, Eddie Thornburg, and Roger Thornburg; and sister, Lorene Smith.
Ed is survived by his sons, Buster Thornburg (Melisha), and Terry Thornburg; daughter, Pam Hansil (JJ); sister, Farrell Sherrill; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Services will be held at a later date.
