Charles Edward "Eddie' Jenkins, 63, of Gastonia went home to be with his Heavenly Father on May 14, 2013 at Kings Mountain Hospice House. He was born March 29, 1950 in Gaston County son of Evelyn Anderson Jenkins and the late Charles Grier Jenkins. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Kings Mountain Hospice House for the care that was given to "Eddie". Mr. Jenkins was a member of First Assembly of God, Gastonia. Eddie had a tender heart and loved his family dearly. He was a "Man's Man" and he always had a "project" he was working on. He loved the mountains and outdoor sports. His passion was old cars and he also was a member of Tarheel Rod-Tiques. A celebration of life service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at First Assembly of God, Gastonia officiated by Rev. L.J. Barnes. The family will receive friends 11:30 - 1:00 p.m. at the church on Saturday. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia. In addition to his mother "Eddie" is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Vickie Moore Jenkins; son, Charles Edward Jenkins II and wife Kristen of Iron Station; daughters, Laura Jenkins Brown and husband David of Kings Mountain, Alisha Bre-Ann Jenkins and fiance Boomer Danner of Gastonia; brothers, Keith Jenkins, Donnie Jenkins and Sharon Moore, Alan Jenkins and wife Deborah; grandchildren; Jessica Floyd and husband Matt, David Brown Jr., Carrie Brown, Keaton Jenkins, Evey and Jorja Danner, and one expected; great grandchildren; Gavin Floyd, Julie-Ana Ross. Memorials may be sent to First Assembly of God, 777 South Myrtle School Gastonia, NC 28052.
