Charles "Max" Dockery

Lowell, NC –

Charles "Max" Dockery, 80, went home to be with the Lord May 22, 2016 after a brief battle with cancer.

He was born November 20, 1935 in Graham County, the son of the late Blaine Cicero Dockery and Naomi Dockery Powell.

Max was a US Army Veteran.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife Blanche Gunter Dockery; son Scott Dockery and wife Tammy and daughter Angela Dockery all of Lowell; grandchildren Trina Lattimore and husband Shawn, Brandon Dockery and Jada Blanton, Brittany Cabaniss and husband Jason, Tiffany Crank and husband Akleeah, Sierra Abernathy and husband Casey, Shiann, Leiah and Lacey "Sky" Dockery and Nick Rowley; great-grandchildren Hayla Hawkins, Landon Lattimore, Marlee and Parker Abernathy; sister Kay Moore and husband Tom of Lowell and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Jo Wright and Myrtle Carpenter and brother Jay Dockery.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm Wednesday at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Pastor David Reed.

The family will receive friends 6 – 8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
