Charles Gene Christenbury, Sr.

Charles Gene Christenbury Sr., 76, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at his residence.

He was born on November 22, 1947, in York County, SC, to the late Ebbie and Zettie Christenbury,

Charles loved to golf. Watching television was his favorite thing to do. He also loved to garden and watch it grow.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Charles is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty Christenbury; sons, Charles Christenbury Jr., Michael Christenbury; sisters, Madge Balew, Judy Craine, Dale Conner; grandchildren, Jade Christenbury and Landon Christenbury.

A graveside service, officiated by Reverend Sam Barnette, will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 1:00 pm, at Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 S. New Hope Rd., Gastonia, NC 28054.
