Charles Alfred Black

Charles Alfred Black, age 70, passed away April 1, 2019 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
He was born on September 10, 1948, the son of the late Charlie Black and Virginia Bradley Black.
Charles attended Cidar Grove Baptist Church and he loved sports.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Gail Jackson Black; son, Mike Black of Gastonia; daughter and son-in-law, Anita Black and Jimmy Hendrix; son-in-law, Barry Grigg; brothers, Larry Black of Ranlo, Donnie Black of Bessemer City, and David Black of Winston-Salem; sisters, Cathy Farrar of Ranlo, Patty Self of Dallas and Brenda Black of Kinston, NC; grandchildren, Michael Grigg, Amanda Summerfield, Miranda Gozalkowski, Wesley Grigg, Noah Black; and 4 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Angie Black Grigg; brother, Jimmy Black and sisters, Sandra Crawford and Retha Black.
A visitation will be held 6 – 8 pm on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.
A funeral service officiated by the Revs. Tom Lavin and Terry Gibson will be held 11 am Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
