Charles Ross Baumgardner

Charles Ross Baumgardner, 81, of Kings Mountain, passed away on November 27, 2015, at his home. He was born September 16, 1934, in Chester, SC, son of the late Haskell Baumgardner and Lilly Tinker Baumgardner. Mr. Baumgardner was a member of Landmark Baptist Church, Gastonia. He was a retired US Navy Veteran. He had worked as a licensed funeral director and embalmer. The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice of Cleveland County and Bayada Home Health Care for the loving care that was given to Mr. Baumgardner. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Landmark Baptist Church, 311 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Forrest Hennessee. The family will receive friends 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City with military honors provided by the US Navy. Mr. Baumgardner is survived by his loving wife, of 56 years, Mona Lopez Baumgardner; son, Col. Rusty Baumgardner and wife, Tammy; daughter, Tracy Baumgardner; stepdaughter, Lorna Durbin and husband, Garret; grandchildren, Cassi Baumgardner, Calli Prell and husband, Luke, Cori Baumgardner, Marcus Dolphin, Amy Worsham; several great – grandchildren.
