Charles Denford Baker

Charles Denford Baker, 89, of Lowell, passed away April 8, 2016 at his residence.

He was born January 22, 1927 in Jefferson County, TN, the son of the late Mitchell Woodie and Maude Baker Woodie.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughters Kay Whitesides and Brenda Nalley; 2 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and special sister-in-law Shirley Bumgardner.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Irene Baker.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm Monday at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Jerry Willard.

The family will receive friends 7 – 8:30 pm Sunday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gaston County Hospice, PO Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054.
