Chaney Sims

Chaney Sims, 44, of Gastonia, passed away October 12, 2021, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia due to a cardiac arrest.

He was born July 13, 1977, in York County, SC, son of Mahoda Davis and the late Clyde Sims Sr.

Chaney loved grilling, cooking, bowling and shooting pool.

He enjoyed his job at the Dole Plant in Bessemer City.

Chaney was very sentimental and caring.

A celebration of Chaney's life will be held  2-4 pm Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Rankin Lake Park, Shelter# 10, 1750 Rankin Lake Road, Gastonia.

Chaney  is survived by his daughter, Alyssa Sims;  mother, Mahoda Davis; grandmother, Christine Sims; brother, Steven Sims; sister Mona Fore (Jeff); nieces and nephews, Hannah Fore, Jacob Sims, Isaac Sims; great-niece, Royal Sims; special cousins, Robin Ford, Paul Mayhew; best friend, Lora Wood; numerous other family members and friends.

In addition to his father, Chaney was preceded in death by grandparents, Sara and Tom Gosset, Leroy Sims.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, Gastonia.
