Celia Cox Jones

Gastonia - Celia Cox Jones, 79, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. She was born June 13, 1934 in Gastonia, daughter of the late Carroll John Cox and Brannon Lee Cox. In addition to her parents, Celia was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Jones; brother, Daniel Cox; and sister, Brenda Simon. She is survived by her sons, Michael G. Jones of Cherryville and Jeffrey Jones Sr. of Gastonia; daughter, Susan Jones Huffstetler of Gastonia; brother, Charles Cox of Gastonia; sister, Jane Cox of Charlotte; grandchildren, David Johnson, Michael Huffstetler Jr., David Huffstetler, Jeremiah Jones, Jeffrey Jones Jr., Rachel Jones, Jeanna Jones, and Jessie Jones; and 14 great-grandchildren. A memorial service, officiated by Rev. Leon Humphrey, will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 11 at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 South York Rd., Gastonia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
