Cathy Anderson Short

Cathy Anderson Short, 57, of Shelby, passed away November 4, 2022, at Atrium Health Carolinas medical Center in Charlotte.

She was born July 21, 1965, in Cleveland County, daughter of the late Kirby Lee Anderson and Lottie Murray Anderson.

Cathy loved her family and was deeply devoted to all of them.

Drinking coffee was one of her favorite things and Christmas was one of her favorite times of the year.

A funeral service will be held 4:00 pm Friday, November 18, 2022, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia.

The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Thursday, November 17, 2022, at the funeral home.

Cathy is survived by her loving husband of 12 years, Chris Short; son, Patrick Philbeck; daughters, Taylor Knight, Heather Philbeck, Jessica Short, Melody Short; brothers, Randy Anderson, Noah Anderson, Jerry Anderson, Alvin Anderson, Bobby Jo Anderson, David Anderson; sisters, Sarah Whitley, Carolyn Hunt, Gail Mincey, Shirley Lovelace, Maggie Townsend; fifteen grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Cathy was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Anderson; sister, Betty Lowrance.
