Cathy Jane Mccurry

Cathy Jane McCurry, born on September 28, 1965, in North Carolina, passed away on July 11, 2024, in her hometown of Lincolnton, NC at the age of 58. She was a beloved daughter, mother, and friend to many. Cathy had a talent for playing the guitar, teaching herself to strum and pluck the strings with a natural grace.

Throughout her life, Cathy worked as a spinner in the textile industry, where she shared her skills and dedication with those around her. She was a proud American citizen who valued hard work and loyalty.

Cathy leaves behind her loving daughter, Chasdity Ragland (Chris); grandchildren, Hunter, Alyssa, and Cloie; and sister, Lauran Carrington. She cherished her family above all else, finding joy in the simple moments spent together.

In honor of Cathy's memory and the impact she had on those around her, funeral services and ceremonies to celebrate her life will be held in the near future. Cathy's final wish was to be cremated, as a tribute to the free spirit she embodied during her time on this earth.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Genava Bruce.
