Catherine Young

Catherine Young, 97, of Bessemer City, passed away on July 16, 2021, at Somerset Court of Cherryville.

She was born July 30, 1923, in Cleveland County, daughter of the late Ransom Pruitt and Minnie Martin Pruitt.

Catherine was a member of the First Wesleyan Church in Bessemer City.

Catherine is survived by her grandchildren, Curt Young and wife Kim, Edye Parrish and husband Bobby; great-grandchildren, Megan Parrish, Jessica Parrish, Abby Young, Sadie Young, and Colby Eike.

In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Ed "Jack" Young; her son, Ed Young Jr.; grandson, Kevin Young; brother, Otto Pruitt; sisters, Mae Sanders, Viola McEntyre, and Marie Haynes.

A graveside service will be held 10:00am Monday, July 26, 2021, at Mountain Rest Cemetery, 111 South Dilling Street, in Kings Mountain, officiated by Pastor Matt Mitchell.
