Catherine Louise Floyd

Catherine Louise Floyd, 82, of Bessemer City, passed away November 15, 2016 at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas.

She was born December 16, 1933, a native of Gaston County, the daughter of the late Harley Avery Hawkins and Evelyn Magdeline Gilmore Hawkins.

Catherine was a member of First Wesleyan Church in Bessemer City.  She was a former member of the Lucille Tatum Homemaker Center in Gastonia.  She retired from Belk's Department Store after 30 years of service.  Catherine loved to dance and taught ballet.

Left to cherish her memories are her son Alan Christopher Floyd; daughters Brenda Floyd Brochetti and Melinda Floyd Cunningham and 5 grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years until his passing, Louis Carrell Floyd.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Wes Brown, will be held 2 pm Friday, November 18, 2016 at First Wesleyan Church, 510 East Alabama Avenue, Bessemer City, NC.

Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
