Cassidy "Cassie" Susan Summers

Cassidy "Cassie" Susan Summers, 19, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021, at her residence.

She was born June 21, 2002, in Gaston Co, NC, daughter of Willie Summers and Stephanie Michelle Summers.

Cassie, her Momma's baby girl, her daddy's princess and her brother's Sissy went to see Jesus and her Nanny and Paw Paw she longed to meet unexpectedly after an extended illness. She was the desire of her momma's heart God granted. She was an audience for her Daddy's jokes. We treasured each moment she was with us. She was a wonderful, Christian lady known for her bright, beautiful smile. She had a heart of gold and wisdom beyond her years. She also had a cute personality and a loud infectious laugh that brightened a room.
Prior to her illness, she was a very active person involved in many sports including dance, gymnastics where she competed in many competitions, soccer from the time she was 3 years old, cheerleading and softball where she pitched for her school's middle/high school team when only in 7th grade. She excelled in school, Northgate Christian Academy, never getting less than straight A's. She was excited about starting college soon and college life. Her dream college was UNC Chapel Hill. She was determined to keep up with her big brother, Chandler, and often succeeded. She loved reading and was referred to as a bookworm by her mom. She was active in church prior to her illness where she performed in Christmas Cantatas and the children's choir. From the time she was little, she was concerned with the suffering and needs of others frequently requesting her mom pray for other's she knew or heard needed God's help or healing.
She will forever be missed and loved! She'll always be in our hearts. We honor you, Cassidy Susan, and await our reunion! She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Lellon Bolynn, Sue Bolynn, Wilbur Summers, and Fannie Summers.

In addition to her parents, Cassie is survived by her brother, Chandler Summers; half-brothers, Randy Summers, Christopher L. Summers, and Scott Summers; proxy grandmother, Billie Wynn; uncles, Todd Bolynn (Sarah), Tony Bolynn (Mary), and Johnny Summers; beloved cousins she cherished, Andrew Boylnn, Elizabeth Boylnn, and Olivia Bolynn; and her fur baby, Mimi Margaret.

Family will receive friends 6-8pm on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

A funeral service officiated by Rev. Ron Lackey, and Pastor Danny Shortridge, will be held 2pm on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Dallas Church of God - 311 S College St, Dallas, NC 28034 .

Burial will follow the service at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City, NC.
