Carolyn Annette Saunders

Aug 31, 1945 — Oct 17, 2026

Carolyn Lockridge Saunders was born on August 31st, 1945, in Gaston County, North Carolina. At the age of 81, Carolyn passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on October 17, 2026, where she united with her heavenly father whom she loved. She was a cherished wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved spending time with family and making memories with those closest to her.

Carolyn loved flowers, being outdoors, and anything that allowed her to be creative. She was a talented artist who always seemed to have something in her hands, whether she was drawing, designing, painting, or working on her latest arts and craft project. She had a wonderful imagination and could come up with some of the most unique and unusual ideas, many of which her family still talks about and smiles over.

She especially enjoyed making things from scratch for her grandchildren. Whether it was a handmade gift or something she had dreamed up herself, she loved putting her creativity to use. She also loved spending time playing with her great-grandchildren, enjoying the little moments that came with being together.

Carolyn enjoyed working countless puzzles, both at the dining room table and on her iPad. Once she finished a puzzle, she often found a place for it on the wall, turning a hobby she enjoyed into another decoration for her home.

During several of her retirement years, Carolyn and her husband traveled across America, visiting new places and enjoying their time together.

Carolyn will be remembered for her creativity, her love for her family, and her ability to make something out of just about anything. The things she made, the memories she shared, and the many little ways she made life special will continue to bring smiles to those who knew and loved her.

After calling on Yahusha for many years, Carolyn is now at rest, preparing to begin an adventure more wonderful and beautiful than anything she could have ever imagined. After spending so many years enjoying the beauty and nature of this world, she will now get to experience the unimaginable beauty of Heaven. We can only imagine her face as she discovers flowers more beautiful than any she had ever grown or admired and butterflies with colors and patterns unlike anything she had ever seen. We will miss her dearly, but we find comfort in knowing that for someone who found so much joy in nature, art, and the beauty of Yahuah' s creation, Heaven will bring her unimaginable joy.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Broadus Lockridge and Sudie "Sue" Violet Lewis Lockridge, and her brothers, Billy "Bill" Joe Lockridge and Paul "Super" Lockridge.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 61 years, David Francis Saunders; her daughters, Pamela Reynolds (husband Jeff), Veeta McMullen (husband Jon), April "April Pie" Jackson (husband Steven); brothers, Maxwell Lockridge, Larry Lockridge, Ricky Lockridge; sisters, Pat Foy and Gail Bostic; and 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, alongside numerous nieces and nephews.

The South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service is honored to serve the Saunders family. Condolences may be shared online at: www.greenefuneral.com.
