CAROLE TOLBERT LONG
Born May 5, 1955, after courageously enduring a long illness died peacefully on Feb. 5, 2016, in Gastonia.

She was the daughter of Dorothy Randolph Tolbert Barrick of Gastonia and the late Harold R. Tolbert.
Carole attended Ashbrook High School, Gardner-Webb College and New Brunswick Community College. Her long employment was spent working as an office manager and accountant for various firms. She loved music, was a member of The Wesleyan Youth Chorus and with the group sang at the White House and attended the Graz Music Festival, in Austria. A member of New Life Baptist Church, she was an avid churchgoer, loved swimming and children, was a foster parent in addition to having her own family.
Left to cherish her memories along with her mother are her son Matthew C. Long and fiancee Kim Carey of Concord, and their children Trinity, Ariel and Christopher; daughter Kristin L. Lynch and fiancee Wes Dodson of Bessemer City, and their children Haille, Nathan, Abbygail and Izabella and her brother Ran-dal Tolbert of Gastonia.
A celebration of her life in memoriam with family and friends 3 p.m. Thursday at Dallas Baptist Church, 402 W. Trade Street, Dallas, and in fellowship thereafter. Private interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
Her brother also wishes to thank those who provided special care to Carole over the years including Riverwood Medical, Countrytime Inn, Belaire Nursing Home and Gaston Hospice.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
