Carol June Metcalf Caldwell

Carol Metcalf Caldwell, 88, of Gastonia, passed away on September 18, 2013 at The Robin Johnson Hospice House, Dallas. She was born June 7, 1925 in Gaston County daughter of the late Vernard Metcalf and Maybelle Grooms Metcalf. Mrs. Caldwell was a loving mother, grandmother and a friend to many. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church Gastonia. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Rev. Kenneth Colman. The family will receive friends 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Hollywood Cemetery, Gastonia. Mrs. Caldwell is survived by: son, Vernon Moore and wife Sandra; daughters, Barbara Readling and husband Danny, Molly Lamberth, Sherry Seagraves and husband Dennis; stepson, Roger Caldwell and wife Pauline; sister in-law, Peggy Metcalf; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: husband, Jacob Floyd Caldwell; great grandson, Christian Tyler Lamberth; four brothers; four sisters.
