Caney "Pop" Lundy

Caney "Pop" Lundy, 92, of Ranlo, passed away at home on August 6, 2020.

He was born June 18, 1928 in Knox County, Tennessee to the late George Burl and Elizabeth Headrick Lundy.

Pop worked for Ithica for over 10 years in the Carpenter Shop.  He also worked at the Smyre Mill in the Carpenter Shop.  He worked for various companies as a house builder.  Pop was an avid fisherman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Miller Lundy; daughter, Rita Elizabeth Lundy; daughter-in-law Rita D. Lundy; several brothers; one sister; and a granddaughter, Misty Lynn Carpenter.

Pop is survived by his children, Kenneth Lundy, Sherry Killian and significant other Ronald Gooden,  and Robert Benjamin Lundy and wife Samantha;  grandchildren include granddaughter and caretaker, Haley Lundy, Stephanie Ann Gardner and husband Vance, Amanda Lundy Page, Alisha Faye Childers, Deanna Nicole Lundy, Christy Lynn Avery, and Codie Lynn Jones; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers to Kenneth Lundy, Daniel Davis, Ronald Davis, and Charlie; and niece, Amy Leona Bottoms.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 17, 2020 from 12:30 – 1:30 pm at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 17, 2020 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Tim Parker officiating at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia, NC.
