Buddy Everou Collins passed on Sept 26, 2023. He left his loving wife of almost 12 years, Joyce West Collins. She was by his side during his battle with cancer. He was a loving, caring stepfather to her children, Vernon West, Anne Cochran, Charlene Lanier, Tammy Godwin, and James Abee and all her grand, great, and great-great grandchildren.

He was born Oct 7, 1935, in Shelby NC, to the late Odus Andrew Collins and Mary Magaline Hamrick Collins,.

Buddy was happily married 33 years to Lillian Mae Collins. Lillian preceded him in death. Buddy was the best Stepfather to her children Jerry O. Sisk, Alvin T Sisk, and Margaret Collins. All are deceased. Buddy had 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne Collins, James Edward Collins, and Bobby Collins, and his sisters, Reba Sisk, Brenda Pearson, and Mildred Peterson.

He is survived by his siblings, Billy Ray Collins and wife Donna of Mooresboro, NC, Tommy Collins and wife Connie of Kings Mtn NC, Linda Thompson of Shelby, Betty Scott and husband Richard of Shelby, and Patsy Stroup of Shelby. They will greatly miss their brother.

Buddy worked for years in the textile business and retired from Johnson Motor lines. Buddy loved being a member of the Masonic Lodge and an Honorary member of the Eastern Stars where he spent a lot of time volunteering to help with the community. He also was a member of Love Valley Baptist Church for over 40 years where he served as Deacon and door greater. That is where he met his loving wife Joyce.

A Funeral Service officiated by Pastor Barry Philbeck will be held Friday, September 29, 2023 – 1:00 PM at Love Valley Baptist Church, 2032 Bethlehem Rd, Kings Mountain, NC 28086. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park in Shelby, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Love Valley Baptist Church or Cancer Services of Gaston County, 306 Columbia St. Gastonia, NC 28054
