A Tribute to Bryson ("Daddy")
Daddy was endlessly creative - a true craftsman who could build anything from furniture to houses. If he didn't know how to do something, he would teach himself. He even invented his own game, lemon ball, as a young boy, and that inventive spirit followed him throughout life.
His love for Jesus was deep and unwavering. He didn't follow the crowd - Daddy made his own rhythm and danced to it with joy. He loved music, and preferred the oldies. His favorite past time when his children were younger, was having a big group of neighborhood kids come to visit and all of them watching the 10 Commandments movie, and cooking hamburgers, or he and the family would pile in the station wagon and take their friends to the Belmont drive in for family night. Bryson's beloved cat, Keekee, was often found beside him as he soaked in the sun on the porch, hummingbirds fluttering nearby.
Daddy was the spiritual anchor of our family. He knew the Bible cover to cover and was the one we turned to with questions about faith. He prayed daily for every single family member by name.
He often asked God to allow him to do "one big work" for the Kingdom. What he didn't realize was that he already had - in raising five God-fearing children and helping to guide multiple grandchildren in faith, love, and purpose.
We will forever cherish the music, the wisdom, the laughter, and the love he gave us.
