Brian Keith Oliver (54), of Smyrna SC, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2024, surrounded by his daughters, and family, following a tragic accident occurring days earlier. He put up a great & strong fight but was ready when our Lord called him home.
A native of Kings Mountain NC, Brian moved his family to Smyrna in July of '99 to obtain better hunting land, and a country lifestyle for his family. He was an avid hunter of turkey, deer, and raccoons-turkey & deer season being his favorite time of year - he was hard man to find during these seasons. Anytime he wasn't hunting you could find him somewhere fishing by wading, or in his kayak loaded up with Mountain Dew, & Debbie cakes, his favorite "meal". He was a wonderful father to his daughters, Megan Hughes, and Cheyenne Oliver, and the world's best pawpaw to his seven grandchildren, one of which is named after him. His grandchildren were his world, when he wasn't spending time with them, he was always checking up on them. They will miss all his hard knock life wisdom, and unmatched sense of humor. There was never a moment of silence around Brian, but always laughter, as his sense of humor & storytelling was unmatched.
He is survived by his two daughters & one son-in- law, Megan Hughes & Mike Hughes of Inman SC and Cheyenne Oliver of Boiling Springs SC, as well as his parents, David & Annie Oliver of Kings Mountain, NC. His grandchildren, Manny Hughes, Caden Cantrell, Kaliana Cantrell-Hughes, Kane Keith Martin, Liam Kilgore, Italian granddaughter-Alida Rivviecio, and new grand baby Milana Hughes who he was eagerly waiting to meet once she was released from the Nicu, his siblings & their spouses, Dave Oliver (Crystal), Sonya Fulbright (Chip), and Lisa Boyd (Greg), in addition to 8 nieces & nephews, 16 great nieces & nephews, and nearly a hundred cousins, all whom he adored.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Brian's good friend, Mike Carroll (Smyrna) who stepped in to save him during the tragic accident. As well as the community, and all the churches praying for him. All of the medical staff who took great care of him, and his family during this time, and those who responded to the accident call on Sunday, April 28. All the support & prayers during this time were felt, and greatly appreciated by all of the family & friends.
