Brian Merritt

Brian Merritt, 67, of Gastonia, passed away July 17, 2012, at Gaston Memorial Hospital, Gastonia. He was born July 29, 1944 in Johnson City, NY, son of the late Rolland Arthur and Mabel Specht Merritt. Mr. Merritt was retired from SUNY Binghamton in December of 2000, after 43 years of service. He served in the Armed Forces from 1967 to 1970. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff on the third floor of Gaston Memorial Hospital for their love and care. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by James Bingham. He is survived by: his wife, Lois Bocwinski Merritt; son, Christopher Merritt; daughter in-law, Jennifer; grandson, Andrew Brian. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice, Robin Johnson House, P. O. Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Serivce and Crematorium, Gastonia.
