Brenda Kay Watts

Brenda Kay Watts, 71, of Gastonia, passed away on June 7, 2020 at the Wellington House, in Gastonia, NC.

Brenda loved to dance.  She was a well-known CNA for 35 years.  She even helped the staff at Wellington House care for other patients.  Brenda never met a stranger.

A native of Gaston County, NC, she was born August 16, 1948 to the late Kelly William and Margaret Franklin Wright.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Watts, Sr., and a brother, Ricky Wright.

She is survived by a son, Donald  "Bo" Watts, Jr., and his girlfriend, Erica Sox; a daughter, Felicia Taylor and husband, Randy N. Taylor; a brother, Glenn Wright; cousins, Roger Lee Braswell and cousin and best friend, Becky Haney; and grandchildren, Aberdeen Starr Watts, William Joseph Watts, Randy Dale Taylor, and Seth Taylor.

The family extends a special thank you to all the staff at the Wellington House for the loving care they provided.

The family will have a funeral service on Wednesday, June 10 at 2:00 pm at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia, NC.
