Brenda Helms Smith

Brenda Helms Smith, 75, of Cramerton, passed away May 28, 2015 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. She was born a native of Gaston County May 21, 1940, daughter of the late, John Leonard Sutton and Ruby Helms Kearns. Left to cherish her memories are children, James and Chris Anthony, Paula and Bobby Hudspeth, Penny and Mike Edwards all from Cramerton; brothers, Jewell and Wanda Sutton from Belmont, Frank and Gloria Gunn Sutton from Clover, SC, Lee and Anne Sutton from Florida; grandchildren, Andy Hudspeth, David and Pamela Edwards, Matt and Kym Hudspeth, James and Kelsey Edwards, Jessica Anthony and Fiancé Ken Cribb, Lindsey, Amber and Clinton Anthony; great-grandchildren, Megan, Kiley, McKinley, Bailee and Brennan John; numerous nieces and nephews and a very special sister, Wanda Sutton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sister, Hazel McCoy. The family will receive friends 7 - 9 pm Sunday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia and at other times at her residence - 501 Highland Street, Cramerton. A graveside service will be held 3 pm Monday at Gaston Memorial Park Mausoleum, officiated by the Rev. Nelson Hope. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice - PO Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
