It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brenda Davis Long, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us peacefully on June 20, 2026, at the age of 77.
Born on November 4, 1948, in Gaston County, daughter of the late William "Bill" Davis and Lona "Velma" Penner Davis. Brenda exemplified a life filled with love, devotion, and joy. She cherished her family deeply, always placing their needs and happiness above all else. Her warmth and kindness created a nurturing environment for her loved ones, and she will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
Brenda's passions extended beyond her family. She found immense joy in reading, baking, and cooking, often creating delightful meals and treats for family gatherings and celebrations, sharing her culinary talents with those she held dear. Her joy for life also drew her to travel for car shows in Tennessee, the mountains and Myrtle Beach.
A long-time member of the Mountaineer Cruisers Car Club in Kings Mountain, Brenda shared many joyous moments with her husband, Don. Whether attending club meetings or participating in local car shows, those times brought her great happiness and fulfillment, surrounded by friends who shared their love for automobiles.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia, officiated by Pastor John Harper. The family will receive friends 1-2 pm prior to the service. The burial will be at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain.
Brenda is survived by her daughter, Wendy Long; son, Scott Long and wife Robin; grandchildren, Amanda Long, Jonathan Long, Jacob Long ,Brendan Long; great-grandchildren, Jayden Johnson, Jonah Johnson, Julian Johnson; special friends, Carlotta and Ann.
In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded by her beloved husband, Donald Eugene Long; brothers, Dean Davis, Ray Davis; sister, Janis Davis.
In this time of grief, let us come together to remember Brenda Long-a remarkable woman who filled our lives with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
