Brenda Joyce Messer

Brenda Joyce Messer, the spirited dog lover and self-employed dog groomer, passed away at her home in Gastonia, NC on July 16, 2024. Born in South Carolina on December 30, 1952, Brenda leaves behind her beloved daughter, Jennie Messer; son, Randy Messer (Pam); special, nephew Billy Haas (Stephanie); grandchildren, Meagan Mata (Jared) and Makayla Norwood; great grandchildren, Macy Hart, Nathan Mata and Elijah Mata; brothers, Terry and Mickey; sisters, Frances and Martha; brothers in-law, sisters in-law, many nieces and nephew, cousins, friends, and her beloved fur babies, Dallas and Sophie.

Brenda loved her family and was currently caring for her great granddaughter Macy. She also took care of her other grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Brenda was well known for her dog grooming business, Brenda's Dog House and she retired years earlier from Homelite.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the visitation ceremony scheduled to take place at Greene Funeral Service South Chapel on July 19, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The Funeral Service to honor Brenda's life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 11:00 am at Greene Funeral Service South Chapel.

Brenda will be laid to rest at Westview Gardens in Bessemer City, NC. She will be remembered for her love of animals and dedication to her craft. Brenda's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Hoyle and Gladys Beachum; her husband Harry Messer; grandson, Donnie Hart; brothers, Roger Paul, David, and Junior; sisters, Jean and Isabelle.
