Boyd A. Mullenax

Boyd Aldin Mullenax, 88, of Gastonia, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Gastonia Health and Rehab.

A Gaston County resident, he was born January 6, 1935, son of the late Willard and Iowa Mullenax of Rutherford County.

In addition to his parents, Boyd was preceded in death by his brother, Boyce Mullenax; and two sisters Joyce Dalton, and Viola Sanford.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Dora Taylor Mullenax of the home; daughters, Myra Carter and husband Dan, Connie Rodden, and Sherri Nicholson; five grandchildren, Christi Carter, Danny Carter and wife Ashley, Holly Rodden, Ross Loftis and wife Kylie, Melissa Law and husband Brian; great grandchildren, Drake Loftis, Robby Wagner, Henry Carter, Nadia Law, Jace Law, and Roman Law.

Boyd was a US Army veteran.

He retired from Independent Life Insurance after many years of faithful service winning many awards and commendations.
Following his work with Independent, Boyd spent several years delivering school busses for Thomas Bus Company.  While working with Thomas Bus, he traveled extensively, visiting 49 of the fifty states.

Boyd also loved his church, Dallas Church of God, and worked each year with the men's ministry selling pine straw.

One of the highlights of his year was a trip to the coast where he enjoyed pier fishing and time with his family.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at Dallas Church of God, 311 South College Street, Dallas, NC,
on Wednesday, January 11, at 12:00 PM.  The family will receive friends at the church, one hour before the service.

Bishop Danny Shortridge will officiate the service assisted by Bishop Dan Carter of the family.

Burial will be in High Shoals City Cemetery.
