Bonnie Hudson Martin

Bonnie L. Hudson Martin, 74, of Bessemer City, passed away Friday, January 3, 2014 at the Kings Mountain Hospice House. A native of Cleveland County, she was born September 16, 1939, daughter of the late Cohen Franklin Hudson and Anner Roxanna Chapman Hudson. In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Tosha Patterson; mother-in-law, Maybell Martin; brothers, Kenley, Conley, Elmer, and Tommy Hudson; sisters, Ruby Padgett, Marie Adington, and Shirley Hoyle. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs. Martin was a Godly woman who loved the Lord. She was a member of Bright Light Baptist Church in Bessemer City, was retired from Osage Mills in Bessemer City and was a homemaker. She is survived by her loving husband of over 45 years, George Martin, of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Curt Patterson, Georgette and Eric Broome, Hope Hedrick; brothers and sisters, Horace Hudson, Florence Lail, Nellie Farris, Rev. Jerry Hudson, Kenneth Hudson, Gene Hudson, Dean Chapman, and Ethel Ledbetter; grandchildren, Zach Patterson, Robby Hedrick and wife Ashley, Madison Wylie, Megan Wylie, Kinsley Broome, and Kelsie Broome; great-granddaughter, Bella Hedrick. A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Jerry Hudson and Pastor Wayne Reese, will be held at Bright Light Baptist Church, 112 White Jenkins Rd., Bessemer City at 3p.m. on Sunday, January 5. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Kings Mountain Hospice, 321 Kings Mountain Blvd., Kings Mountain, NC 28086. Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
