Bobby Lee Smith

Gastonia, NC - Bobby Lee Smith, 81, of Gastonia, passed away September 24, 2014 at Presbyterian Main in Charlotte. He was born July 18, 1933 in Lincoln County, son of the late Robert L. and Maude Smith. Bobby was a veteran of the US Navy, he was employed as a personnel director at Pharr-Yarns, Clover Plant for 26 years and a columnist of "This and That from Clover" in the Pharr Crier newspaper. Bobby is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sybil Smith; son, Randy Smith and wife, Monica of Huntersville, NC; sister, Linda McIver and husband Jack of Marshville, NC; mother-in-law, Nancy Schronce; grandchildren, Ashley Vaughn and husband Ryan; Patrick Smith and wife Allison and great-granddaughter, Liza Vaughn. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm on Saturday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Joe Heffner.
