Bobby Gene Sisk, 84, of Gastonia, passed away July 23, 2017 at his residence.
He was born November 13, 1932 in Cleveland County, the son of the late John Grady Sisk and Maggie Campbell.
Bobby was a member of Crowders Mountain Baptist Church in Kings Mountain. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War. He loved his family, had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger.
Left to cherish his memories are his sons, Johnny Sisk Sr. and Jimmy Sisk; daughters, Julie Sisk, Jena Sisk Christenbury and husband, Tommy; grandchildren, Johnny Sisk, Jr., Ashley Levi, Kenneth Rogers, John Lee Houser; great-grandchildren, Donald and Carolyn Sisk, Cody and McKinlee Levi; and special friend, Maggie Palmer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, of 50 years, Carolyn Hughes Sisk; and sister, Betty Williamson.
A funeral service, with full military honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard, will be held 11 am Thursday at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Larry Laws.
The family will receive friends 6 – 8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
