Bobby L. Heffner, a self-made man and successful business owner, passed away at the age of 87 on Saturday, June 29, 2024. Born to the late John Henry Heffner and Vangie Shoup Heffner on June 12, 1937, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Jean Correll Heffner Cantrell; his second wife, Mary Frances Gibson Heffner; his brother, John David Heffner; daughter in law Mary Lou Heffner and stepchildren, Anita Rose and Lee Gibson.

A true entrepreneur, Bob began humbly, sweeping floors at Ideal Industries in Bessemer City. Through his ingenuity and a relentless work ethic, he held numerous patents and went on to achieve global business success as an owner of LNS Turbo and multiple other small businesses. In addition to his business acumen, Bob was a professional Blackjack player and was also known to win many dollars at the Craps table. He was a generous man, known for his kindness to his employees and those in need. Bob also enjoyed collecting and restoring vintage automobiles, a passion that brought him much pleasure.

He is survived by his children: Kathy Spencer (Chris), Steve Heffner (Sandy), Craig Heffner (Renee), and Tracie Brafford (Reid). He leaves behind grandchildren: Karah Morgan (Bill), Brad Spencer, Brandon Heffner (Jennifer), Landon Heffner, Jonathan Thomasson (Emily), and Sheena Darby; as well as great-grandchildren Cohen Morgan, Claire Morgan, Valerie Heffner, Aiden Dorsey, and Catherine Thomasson. He is also survived by his sisters, Frances Biddington and Patsy Absher, his brother Dean Heffner, stepdaughters Jackie Stephens and Kay Gibson and numerous step grandchildren.

Bob's life was marked by his determination, generosity, and unique personality. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

A private graveside service will be held at Westview Gardens. A celebration of Bobby's life will be held 11:00 am July 2, 2024, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road, officiated by Rev. Bobby Duran. The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home.
