Bobbie Jean Tolbert Rimmer

Bobbie Jean Tolbert Rimmer, 76, of Bessemer City, passed away December 11, 2014 at her residence. She was born July 9, 1938 native of Gaston County, daughter of the late Augustus and Willie Sipe Tolbert. Bobbie was a member of First Assembly of God, Gastonia. The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to Cleveland County Hospice staff and nurses, especially to Steven, Martha, Priscilla and Terry including a special thanks to her caregiver and best friend, Kay Stewart for their loving care of Mrs. Rimmer. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Ed Rimmer; son, Keith Rimmer and wife, Vickie; grandchildren Carla, Daniel, Megan and Toni Rimmer and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by son, Brian Rimmer; brothers, Everett, Howard and Raymond Tolbert; and sisters, Dorothy Ray and Catherine Todd. A funeral service will be held 2 pm Sunday at First Assembly of God - 777 South Myrtle School Rd., Gastonia, officiated by the Dr. L.J. Barnes. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Armstrong Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County - 951 Wendover Heights Dr., Shelby, NC 28150 or the First Assembly of God. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
