Billy Eugene Robinson Sr.

Billy Eugene Robinson Sr., of Shelby, a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on March 22, 1938, to the late Herbert Robinson and Helen Everette Robinson. Billy was a man of faith and family, known for his unwavering devotion to both.

A lifelong admirer of the Atlanta Braves, Billy found joy in every game, a reflection of his vibrant spirit and love for the community. His passion for reading the Bible guided him throughout his life, providing a foundation of strength and wisdom that he shared generously with those around him. In his younger years Billy enjoyed playing basketball.

Billy had many accomplishments in his life and one that made him proud was when he served his country by being in the US Air Force.

Billy's family was the cornerstone of his existence. His love for them was boundless, and he leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humility, and a deep appreciation for the moments that matter most. His laughter, warm hugs, and uplifting words will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Billy is survived by his sons, Billy Robinson Jr. and wife Benita, Donnie Robinson and wife Beverly; brother, Mitchell Robinson; sister, Kay R. Price and husband Jimmy; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret Ann Robinson; brothers, David Robinson and Snookie Robinson.

The family will receive friends 12:00 noon-1 pm Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia, the funeral will follow at 1:00 pm. officiated by Dr. Dennis Gomez. Burial will be at Westview Gardens in Bessemer City.
