Billy Dean Harrelson

Billy Dean Harrelson, 71, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023, at Atrium Hospital in Lincolnton, NC.

He was born in Lincolnton, on March 18, 1952, to the late Marshall Harrelson and Ora Janette.

Billy was a member of Hillside Baptist Church in Hickory. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. He loved anything outside. He retired from the Town of Dallas. He worked part-time at the YMCA and Food Lion in Lincolnton. He had a contagious laugh and joked all the time. He would talk to anybody. He was Pawpaw or Uncle Bill to everyone. He was the "Tough Ol' Man".

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Donald and Ronnie Harrelson; sister, Patricia Harrelson.

Billy is survived by his wife of 45 years, Gladys Harrelson; daughter, Rebecca Ball (Rev. Douglas); stepfather, James "Jim" Sisler of Holden Beach; brothers, Jimmy Harrelson of Gaffney, SC, Roger Harrelson and Steve Harrelson (Cindy), both of Gastonia, James Sisler Jr of Mt Pleasant, SC; sisters, Beth Rexrode (Charles) of Bessemer City, Telissa Mallet of Florida; numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor David Crump, will be held Thursday, May 4, 2023 – 7:00 PM at Dallas Church of God, 311 S. College St. Dallas, NC 28034. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Burial will be Friday, May 5, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Hollybrook Cemetery in Lincolnton, NC.

Pallbearers will be: Michael Harrelson, Chuck Harrelson, Michael McDaniel, Robert McDaniel.
