Billy Harmon Davis, Sr., age 86, of South Gastonia passed away Friday, February 2, 2024.

He was born June 11, 1937, in Old Fort, North Carolina before moving to Gastonia as a young boy. He remained a proud resident of South Gastonia for the rest of his life. He is preceded in death by his father Harvey Davis, and mother Isabelle Gibson-Davis, along with four sisters and two brothers. He is also preceded by his beloved wife Brenda Barker Davis and loving son Brian Keith Davis.

Bill, as family and friends knew him, attended Frank L. Ashley High School. He loved and supported South Gastonia his entire life. He was the owner of Superior Textile Sales and various other small businesses. His entire life he remained a proponent of buying American made products. He married his loving bride Brenda in 1962, and together they would have four children.

Bill is best known as a loving father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He is survived by three children and eleven grandchildren: His oldest son Billy Davis Jr, and his children Weslee, Timothy, and Sarah. His middle son Bobby Davis and wife Jackie, and their children Kaitlyn, Carson, Dylan, Erin. Daughter Belinda Bogle and husband Ed Bogle, and their sons Sean, Franklin, Ben, and Henry. He is also survived by one loving sister and several much-loved nieces and nephews. Along with countless friends, all of which could relay to you one of Bill's many witty jokes. Everyone who knew Bill could tell you that he always brightened their days with both his generosity and humor, which he took with him everywhere he went, especially Hardees, where he regularly congregated with friends.

Bill loved life, and was an avid sports fan and golfer. He loved Hunter Huss High School, where all four of his children attended. He was president of the booster club for years. He loved attending all of his family's events, whether it was a cheerleading competition or a little league baseball game. Myrtle Beach was a second home to Bill, where he kept a house for many years for the sole purpose of vacationing with his friends and family.
