Billy H. Brown

Billy H. Brown, 75, of Gastonia, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on April 20, 2014. He was born August 26, 1938 in Robbinsville, NC son of the late George Washington Brown and Bessie Lowe Brown. He was loved by all who knew him, he enjoyed NASCAR racing and was an avid fan of Dale Jr. A celebration of life service will be held 2:00 pm on Thursday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia officiated by Rev. Matt Campbell. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. Mr. Brown is survived by: sons and daughters in-law, Todd and Sharon Brown, Dennis and Lori Brown, Joel and Monica Brown; daughter and son in-law, Margaret and Everette Stewart; brothers and sister in-law, Darrell Brown, Bob and Joyce Brown, Eugene Brown; sisters and brother in-law, Betty and Roy Pipes, Georgia Crisp; fourteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: wife, Garnettie Ann Brown; sister, Geneva Bock. Memorials may be sent to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive Lincolnton, NC 28092. Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
