Billie H. May Rouse, went to be with the Lord, July 26, 2015. Mrs. Rouse was a retired teacher and school principal and was a long-time Sunday school teacher. She held a bachelor's degree from Carson-Newman University and graduate degrees from Western Carolina University and Fayetteville State University. Lately she had lived at Summit Place, a residential care home in Kings Mountain. Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Ronald and Bessie P. Holland and her first husband, Lieut. Colonel Chaplain Huel E. May. She is survived by her husband, Michael Rouse of Goldsboro; sister, Ann Hardin and husband, Carroll, of Gastonia; brothers, Hugh Holland and wife, Carolyn, of Kings Mountain and Ronnie Holland, of Robbinsville. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia. A memorial service will be held 2 pm Thursday at Madison Avenue Baptist Church - 300 S. Madison Avenue, Goldsboro, NC officiated by Rev. Robert C. Fulkerson. A graveside service will be held 1 pm Wednesday at Lafayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County - 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150 or The Huel E. May Ministers Scholarship fund at Gardner Webb University - 110 S. Main Street, Boiling Springs, NC 28017. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
