Billie Sue Tuggle Braswell Richburg, 83, of Gastonia, passed away June 22, 2013 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas. A Gaston County native, she was born September 10, 1929, daughter of the late Charles A. and Bonnie Peck Tuggle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Braswell, and her sisters, Louise Hodge and Betty Jean Tuggle. Mrs. Richburg was a member of First Assembly Of God in Gastonia and was retired from Gaston Memorial Hospital and Littlejohn's BBQ after many years in the food service industry. Billie is survived by her husband, Lee Richburg of Gastonia; son, Tim Braswell and wife Tami of Belmont, stepson, Ron Richburg and wife Janet of Marietta, GA; stepdaughter, Iris Cook of Charlotte; grandchildren, Jeremy Braswell and wife Anna of Staten Island, NY, Jennifer Monk and husband Gene of Lowell, Brian Ledford and wife Mary of Charlotte, and Mark Lee and fiancée Lisa Seeley of Mineral Bluff, GA; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Claire, Talon, Patrick, and Riley. The family would like to thank Dr. Ronald Digby for his many years as her physician and to give a special thanks to Belaire Healthcare and Rehab South Station, the staff of the Robin Johnson Hospice House, and Dr. Michael Case for the loving and compassionate care given to Billie and her family. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor David Scruggs, will be held 2 pm Tuesday, June 25, at First Assembly Of God, 777 S. Myrtle School Rd., Gastonia. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.
