Bettye Dimmette Psomadakis

Bettye Dimmette Psomadakis, 88, passed away Friday, October 7, 2022, at Caromont Regional Medical Center. She was born June 10, 1934, in Wilkes County, NC to the late Grady and Madia Dimmette.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Psomadakis, son, Philip Psomadakis, and brother, Robert Dimmette. Bettye is survived by her son, Matthew Psomadakis, three grandchildren; Brandon Psomadakis (Courtney), Mike Psomadakis (Kristen), Amanda Hagedorn (Zachary), two great-grandchildren; Claire Psomadakis and Olivia Psomadakis, best friends; Joyce Barbee, Rubynell Jenkins, Charlotte Rogers, and Alice Foy.

Bettye was a member of First Baptist Church in Gastonia, where she volunteered in many church functions. She and her husband prepared meals for several homeless agencies for 12 years. She was an avid reader, walked several miles a day, loved to garden and had numerous pet cats over the years.

A graveside service officiated by Pastor Joel Blevins, will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, 1120 Austin Little Mountain Road, Ronda, NC 28670.

A Celebration of Life service officiated by Pastor Dwayne Burks, will be held Thursday, October 13, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Gastonia. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
