Betty Gene Wilson Clontz

Betty Gene Wilson Clontz, 82, of Gastonia, passed away July 9, 2017 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

She was born April 5, 1935 in Cleveland County, the daughter of the late Ozer Cleaton Wilson and Mary Willie Carr Smart.

Betty was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Gastonia.

Left to cherish her memories are her friends, Rachel L. Pendleton and Judy Williams; nieces, Ann Carpenter and husband, James and Unity Horton and husband, Junior; nephews R.C. Wilson and Gene Wilson; a number of great-nieces and nephews and numerous great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Jones Clontz and siblings, Flay C. Wilson, J.C. Wilson and Madge L. Wilson.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday, July 13, at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Sam Mintz.

Visitation will be held 6 – 8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.

Her final resting place will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
