Betty V. Taylor Splawn

Betty V. Taylor Splawn, 76, of Bessemer City passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Cleveland Regional, Shelby. She was a native of Gaston County, born March 12, 1940 to the late Henry Taylor and Bertha McCollough Taylor. Betty loved her family, flower gardening and was always willing to lend a helping hand. God didn't make a sweeter woman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge Sidney Splawn. Left to cherish her memories are her children, David Splawn and wife Lorie, Donna Splawn Wenzel and husband Doug, Lisa Splawn Grigg and husband David, Mark Splawn and fiancee' Pam Bryant; brother, Henry Taylor, Jr; sister, Louise Taylor Barker; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday at Greene Funeral Service – 216 Archie Whitesides Road, Gastonia, officiated by the Reverends Dick Whitener and Dick Hannah, Jr. Visitation will be held 6 - 8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
