Betty Green Summitt, 73, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Friday, July 28, 2023, at Novant Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC.

She was born in Alabama on September 26, 1949, to the late Clarence and Myrtle Green.

Betty was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Gastonia which she loved being a part of. She loved the beach, the mountains, and she especially loved her family.

Betty is survived by her husband of 51 years, Randy Summitt; son, Brent Summitt (Robin); daughter, Misty Taylor (Greg); sister, Shirley Shingler; grandchildren, Makayla Taylor, Elijah Taylor, Chloe Hall.

A Celebration of Life officiated by Pastor Darin Gibbs will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2023 – 6:00 PM at First Free Will Baptist Church, 2316 Union Road, Gastonia, NC 28054. Visitation will follow the service.
