Betty Melton

Betty Melton, 87, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2022, at White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain, NC.

She was born September 29, 1934, in Cherokee Co, SC, daughter of the late Carl Vernon and Bea Foster Manning.

Betty was a member of New Life Baptist Church, Bessemer City, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Melton; and sisters, Etta Mae Earls and Helen Johnson.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Myra Campbell and husband Johnny, and Nancy Dickens and husband Chris; sister, Eleen Nolan and husband Max; grandchildren, Laura Staie and husband David, and Tyler Leviner and wife Brittany; and great-grandchildren, Cohen Leviner, Judah Leviner, and Blakeley Staie.

A funeral service officiated by Rev. Dennis Gomez, will be held 3pm on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at New Life Baptist Church - 614 S 11th St, Bessemer City, NC 28016. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia, NC.
