Betty Parson Mckeehan

Betty Parson McKeehan, 76, of Gastonia, passed away on March 10, 2014 at Alexandria Place, Gastonia. She was born June 4, 1937 in Banks County, Georgia, daughter of the late Boss M. Parson and Rosie Powell Parson. The family would like to thank the staff of Gaston Place, Hospice of Cleveland County and Alexandria Place for the loving care that was provided to our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. McKeehan was a member of Linwood Church of God, Gastonia. A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm on Thursday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia, officiated by the Reverends Jeremiah Childers and Amber Childers. The family will receive friends 1:00 - 2:45 pm on Thursday prior to the service. Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. Mrs. McKeehan is survived by: son and daughter in-law, Jeff and Tracy McKeehan of Gastonia; daughter and son in-law, Terrie and Charles Childers of Shelby; brothers and sister in-law, Robert "Bill" Parson, Bobby D. and Linda Parson all of Gastonia; sisters and brother in-law, Rosa Lee Parson Tart of Clover, SC, Maggie Parson McBee and Larry of Gastonia; grandchildren, Eric McKeehan, Wesley and Ellen McKeehan, Joshua and Kimberly Childers, Jeremiah and Amber Childers, Candace and Michael Mullinax; great grandchildren, Dalton and Clinton Wells, Sladen Mullinax, Lillian "Lilly" Elizabeth Childers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband of 56 years, Ralph C. McKeehan; brothers, Clifford and Lester Parson. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Dr., Shelby, NC 28150 Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
