Betty Mccurry

Betty Baucom McCurry, 82, of Gastonia, passed away March 19, 2015, at Caromont Regional Medical Center SICU in Gastonia. Ms. McCurry was born in Gastonia, daughter of Rev. Hiram and Virginia Baucom. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur V. McCurry; siblings, Theodore Baucom, Rachael M. Smith, Sarah B. Stroupe, James H. Baucom, Bruce S. Baucom, Sheila Baucom. She is survived by her son, Greg and Elizabeth McCurry; daughter, Lisa Elaine McCurry; step son, Jerry D. and Renee' McCurry; sister, Nancy B. Carpenter; brother, Hiram W Baucom, Jr.; grandchildren, Jennifer G. McCurry, Ashley M. Newman; step grandchildren, Scott McElroy and Christopher Stevens; and 5 great grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be held 2pm on Tuesday at Unity Baptist Church, 482 N Myrtle School Rd, Gastonia, officiating Rev. Roger Mathis. The family will receive friends 6-8pm on Monday at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 South York Rd., Gastonia. Interment will be held at Gaston Memorial Park. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
