Betty Nix Lynch

Betty Nix Lynch, 88, of Gastonia, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born on February 23, 1933, in Rutherford County, to the late Millard and Stella Nix.

Betty was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church but was also a cherished figure at Trinity United Methodist Church. She was an avid piano player. Betty enjoyed spending time with her adored grandchildren and beloved dog Tasha.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, James A. Lynch; daughter-in-law, Dr. Dorcas Hough-Lynch; sisters, Ethel Walker, Agnes Boughman, Nell Gilreath, Ruby Sisk, Nora, and Vickie Nix; and her beloved dog, Tasha.

Left to cherish Betty's memories are her son, Dr. James K. Lynch of Gastonia; daughter, Cynthia Lynch Messenger, and husband Tom of Findlay, OH; sister, Pat Howe of Gastonia; grandchildren, Arianne Lynch, Logan Lynch both of Gastonia, Andrea Hall and husband Cory of Severn, MD; and great grandchildren, Andrew and Bethany Hall of Severn, MD.

All services for Mrs. Lynch are private.
