Betty Barton Hudson

Betty Barton Hudson, 85, of Gastonia, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Belaire Health Care, Gastonia.

She was born June 23, 1932, in Pickens County, SC, daughter of the late Douglas Barton and Bertha Harvey Barton.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her husband Posey, brothers Bill Barton, Jerry Barton and Bobby Joe Barton; sister, Gail Yarborough and 3 great grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, Scott Hudson; daughters, Sharon Poole and Susan Harvley; grandchildren, Angelia Stepps, Steve Pigott, Kevin Pigott, Jennifer Hartness, Danielle Abernathy, Collin Hudson, Jaxon Hudson and Jaeden Hudson; 8 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Greg Qualls, will be held 1pm on Monday, at Greene Funeral Service, 1503 South York Rd., Gastonia.

The family will receive friends 5-7pm, on Sunday, at the funeral home.

Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Belmont, NC

Pallbearers are Michael Barton, Steven Stepps, Collin Hudson, Jaxon Hudson, Steve Greene and Brent Massey.

A special thanks to caregivers, Theresa Cizmar and Nicole Turner, all the staff members of Belaire Health Care and Gaston County Hospice.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
