Betty Mae Holcombe

Betty Mae Holcombe, 79, of Gastonia, passed away March 19, 2015 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. She was born December 9, 1935 in York County, SC, the daughter of the late Thomas Dale and Masie Groves. Left to cherish her memories are her son, Dean Holcombe; daughters, Julie Davenport and husband, Dan and Deborah Lingerfelt; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Gary and Robert Holcombe; sister, Ruby Jean Turner and former husband, Lee Holcombe. A funeral service will be held 12 noon Monday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Larry Laws. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crowder's Mountain Baptist Church, 125 Mayberry Lane, Kings Mountain, NC 28086. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
